Get feedback from users / use Gitlab's Service Desk ?
Since Gitlab 13.2 we have access to Service Desk :
Wether this is useful to us or not is a good question.
It basically allows us to work with users via mail and try to solve their issues that way. However this has a few drawbacks.
- People today don't use mail anymore, at least not our users.
- If we implement this via KM's interface, we'd need to have a mail server configured to send mail, which is out of question (spam issues)
This tells me using the service desk isn't for us.
However we could perhaps create at least a feedback page in the app, accessable through the electron menu (and maybe in the upper right corner of the welcome screen). It could be simple as writing us a comment, asking a question, or such.
That small form could have three fields :
- Name/nickname (optional)
- A way to contact you: mail/twitter/discord/etc.) (optional)
- Your message
this would call the lab's API to create an issue here like we so often do.
